Jeannine Kellogg’s writing is captivating and it has a strong appeal for young as well as older readers. The reader can’t resist the characters, because they are well-developed, deeply human, and richly imagined. The prose exudes a finesse that is rare, evoking strong and interesting images. From the beginning, the author offers clear images to readers, a promise of what awaits them as they progress into the story….The Tukor’s Journey is delightful, an exciting adventure…

...It really takes off from the beginning...

My 9-year-old is loving “The Tukor’s Journey” which is an action adventure novel threaded with sci-fi and we love reading it together. It really takes off from the beginning so it sparked his interest from the first page.

...He’s especially enjoying the talking animals...

Speaking of epics, my son is in the middle of new book, The Tukor’s Journey by Jeannine Kellogg, which sends three siblings on a journey to save the world from a destructive evil force. He’s especially enjoying the talking animals, and has been carrying the book around the house, stealing moments here and there to read just one more chapter.

...an enjoyable book that is well written...

Kellogg weaves a fun, adventurous story with lessons for everyone. It’s an enjoyable book that is well written and draws the reader in. Her descriptiveness is captivating to the point you feel you are part of the story. I even found myself gasping during moments of tension (which I don’t often do while reading a book).

…An Outstanding Read…Hard to Put Down...

An outstanding read, that takes you to actual places around the world and introduces you to rare animals, while you journey with three children and some scary mythological beings.

The story twists and turns and you get absorbed in the journey. This a book that when you start reading is hard to put down until one has finished it.

… encourage preteens and teens to seize the day….

Positive, inspiring books are definitely a great tool in our world today and I’m so excited to bring you a review of the fantastic book, The Tukor’s Journey written by Jeannine Kellogg. Do you have preteen or teens that love reading? Jeannine’s books are not only positive, but they also encourage preteens and teens to seize the day whether it be happy times and troublesome times.

...well written and draws the reader in…descriptiveness is captivating ...

The author, Jeannine Kellogg, says, “We all have an important and powerful mission in life, no matter our circumstances. We are all storytellers as we author our life. We are all invited into a grand and guided adventure to bring Goodness to the world, to bring encouragement to others, and to battle Darkness. I love helping children to see their life as having a powerful mission.”

Kellogg truly reflects the above throughout her book, as she weaves a fun, adventurous story with lessons for everyone. It’s an enjoyable book that is well written and draws the reader in. Her descriptiveness is captivating to the point you feel you are part of the story. I even found myself gasping during moments of tension (which I don’t often do while reading a book).

"...Jeannine Kellogg’s imagination just flows..."

What a fun and adventurous book! Jeannine Kellogg’s imagination just flows through the page and brings Mitch, Tony, and Jovi to life with such vividness. Would recommend if you like book series like “The Spiderwick Chronicles” by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black or “Fablehaven” by Brandon Mull.

"...Once he started it he couldn’t put it down..."

My son loves reading! He has read the whole series of Harry Potter and since he finished the series he has been trying to find a new book to read. When I was asked to review The Tukor’s Journey I thought it would be perfect for him! My son finished this book in a week! Once he started it he couldn’t put it down. It takes you to real places all around the world and introduces you to different animals all while going on a journey with three kids! The author took time to really develop each character with full emotional ranges, and then force them to face different challenges that really made them think outside of the box. The thing I loved most is that this book encourages them to use their imagination and gets them off the electronics for a little while.

"...It draws you in from the very first page..."

I loved this book! It draws you in from the very first page. It felt like the kind of storytelling that was reminiscent of my childhood the kind of story that is told for generations. Ms. Kellogg’s approach to the two different story lines of the siblings and the history of the Tukor and Grezniks definitely creates an intriguing book. This is definitely a book that kids and adults can sink their teeth into with humor, science fiction, drama, mystery, geography, history, and time travel. I cannot wait for my son to read this book so we can discuss it together. I may have to re-read it with him because the size of the book may intimidate him. Nothing to fear though. The story moves quick!

"...fantastical to appeal to those with a vivid imagination..."

I recently had the chance to review The Tukor’s Journey, a book written to appeal to a hard-to-reach audience of pre-teen and young teen boys. The author intentionally wrote this book to appeal to them, but without using cheap or stereotypical humor. Instead, she writes a book that echoes challenges that are faced in real life, encouraging readers to rise above struggles and work towards a higher calling. The book might look intimidating to reluctant readers because of its size, but it’s easy to stay engaged. The characters and themes are relatable, with enough elements of the fantastical to appeal to those with a vivid imagination, or encourage kids to explore a world that is not our own…it’s a good read, and even many kids who don’t love reading will be drawn in to the story.

“...It was very adventurous, I didn’t want to stop reading it."

My 10 year old son, who is an advanced reader, said he really enjoyed this book. “It was very adventurous, I didn’t want to stop reading it. It was a really good story with lots of twists and turns.” I have also met the author and she is very committed to writing quality books for middle school aged readers, without all of “junk” that shows up in many books marketed to this age group. I applaud her in this as we are constantly looking for challenging books for our kids without all of “potty humor” or inappropriate topics. Thank you Jeannine for this quality book!

"...it was the best book he’s ever read..."

This is the book that made my 11 year old son a reader! I’ve been trying to find books that would get him excited about reading and bought him this book a couple months ago. He read it all in a couple days and said it was the best book he’s ever read. Now he reads about two books a week.

"...I loved it!..."

I loved it! It was really good. It ended too soon. I hate waiting for authors to write more books because it takes a long time to write books. I liked how fantastical it was and the story was really clear. I don’t usually like fantasy except for the Warrior series. I usually read history fiction but this was really good.

"...I can tell he is so into it..."

Okay read the entire book, finished it this evening. He spent 2 hours in his bedroom this evening. He who refused to go to bed and it’s already 10:30 pm. I can tell he is so into it otherwise he would have stopped earlier. And his input: “It’s great!” …He wants to know what will happen next. Overall he loves the book. And he’s being frank and honest. He said, “I would buy it.” Very well done.
