It’s been so fun to share the story, visit schools, etc. It’s a cheerful day when kids write to tell me they love The Tukor’s Journey, or when their parents share that their child couldn’t put it down. I am passionate that every child, no matter their circumstance, has a powerful story in their life, a purposeful mission. And sharing that message is my purpose in writing. We are called to encourage.
I also really enjoy sharing Jim Madsen’s amazing illustrations with the kids. After looking through literally hundreds of artist portfolios, I kept returning to Jim’s work because of his amazing range of work, his ability to capture the depth of emotion, landscapes, personality, mood etc. I’m so happy he illustrated the cover and the section illustrations in The Tukor’s Journey. Kids love his artwork – it pulls them into the story. Thank you Jim.
